TRICIA BOOKER CLINIC

Tricia Booker is coming to Northwest Arkansas for a 2-day clinic based on her book she wrote with Julie Winkel, Judging Hunters & Equitation. The book was written to help demystify for riders, trainers, and parents what judges are looking for in the show ring, and why. The first day of the clinic will be classroom/lecture based, with videos, stories, Q&A, and lots of golden nuggets of wisdom. The second day will be a mock horse show (with ribbons)! Tricia will let us know in real-time how and why she is placing the classes, and each rider (and the audience) will get feedback on their riding and how to improve their show ring performance.Tricia will also be doing a book signing and will have her wonderful book available for purchase!

NWAHJA strongly encourages not just our riders, but parents and other auditors, to attend!! It will be a super fun weekend spent learning more about the sport we love, in a way not often accessible – straight from the judge! Auditor passes will be available by the day or for the weekend. Those wishing to ride in the mock show must attend both days. 

Tricia Booker is a U.S. Equestrian Federation R-rated judge in hunters and hunter/jumping seat equitation and hunter breeding and has more than 30 years of judging experience. She’s judged horse shows of all levels throughout the country, including Lake Placid, Old Salem, The Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby, the Interscholastic Equestrian Association Nationals, the Northwest Autumn Classic, the Pacific Crest Open, Thunderbird, SBS Farms and Upperville, to name just a few.
